Married: be my valentine challenge. {via women living well}

I LOVE valentine’s day. I always have, even when I was single. I love red and hearts and flowers and, well, love. I remember giving and getting valentines with my little school friends and exchanging cards at sunday school. I still have quite a few of them actually that I keep in a box with other birthday and Christmas cards and such. I also remember the joy it was to have a Valentine on Valentine’s day when my husband and I began dating.

I came across this challenge above via Marlo at Repurpose My Life and thought it was timely. With our newborn, my husband in job training, still working a part-time job, AND working on his bachelor’s degree online, the thought of Valentine’s day has been far from our minds. When I said something about it coming up last night (because I had just realized it was upon us…) I received that look of dread in my man’s eyes. Not because he hates it, far from it actually, but because he has no idea what to do. My birthday’s in October, then comes Christmas, then the baby was born, then my husband’s birthday was just a few days ago. All that said, we’re pretty present-ed and partied out. Every party has a pooper.

It’s always bothered me how Valentine’s day is always a pressure for men, while us women just get to sit back and enjoy it. (Even if I’m totally guilty of letting that be!) Our men need romancing too! Therefore, I will be working on this challenge for him, because of all that he is and all that he does for our little family, to give him the Valentine’s day he deserves!

I’ll be sharing (most!) of the ideas I come up with with you all! I pray it inspires you to shower your love on your man!

“Each week the challenge will be the same – to praise, encourage, inspire, admire, build up, thank and appreciate your husband. But each week I will give you different ways to express your praise. Feel free to tweak it for what you think is best for your husband.”

Will you join me in blessing our husbands this Valentine’s day?
